How to Use Noyafa NF-8200 Tester to Check the Quality of Retractable Network Cable?
Using high-quality network cables is very important in network applications. Various types of retractable network cables are available in the market. Before selecting a network cable, it’s important to test the quality of the cable. There are many manufacturers of cable testers. Noyafa NF-8200 is one of the highly reliable testers for testing network cables. Also, NF-8200 is a great tester for doing a wide range of cable tests.
Retractable Network Cable
A retractable cable is extendable, but it comes back to its original contracted form after reducing the stress on it. Retractable network cables are available in various categories like CAT5, CAT6, CAT7, etc. These cables work very well in network applications. Cables of different categories have different advantages considering performances and costs.
Noyafa NF-8200
NF-8200 is very efficient in avoiding current interference. It mainly has three parts, including the main tester (NF-8200), the receiver (NF-8200-S), and the remote identifier (NF-8200-R). The tester has some functions for circuit state testing, and the functions are cable line finding, length test, line-to-line, crosstalk, breaking point, working as a practical testing tool for system (with low voltage) installation, maintenance technicians of comprehensive wiring circuits, and communication circuits, etc. The tester is an excellent one in fields like computer networks, telephone systems, etc.

Testing Retractable Network Cables with the NF-8200
NF-8200 supports various tests for retractable network cables. The tests include cable line-to-line test, cable length test, cable tracing test, crosstalk test, etc.
Cable line-to-line test
Cable line-to-line test has various test cases, and for every test case, the tester shows a specific output on its screen. Table 1 shows these test cases and outputs.

There can be a short circuit with the terminal and cable.

2 |
There can be a case where the cable’s (which is being tested) far end and remote adapter (R) hasn’t been connected, or the cable hasn’t been connected to the local port (S).

For the line sequence test of a 6-core network cable, before checking the cable’s wiremap, the user has to choose “RJ11”. Then he has to check the cable’s wiremap. If the cable is ok, the screen will show an output. |
|
Cable length test
For the cable length test, the user needs to insert the testing cable’s one end into the main tester’s “M” port. When the user enters the testing function of the cable length test, the tester shows an interface. It’s better to use the equipment’s dynamic calibration function before measuring length because different cables have different technical parameters.

For the testing of RJ11 cable length, to insert the cable’s (which is being tested) one end into the main tester’s RJ11 port, another end is open. Now the user needs to select length test, press the key “ENTER” to start the length test. Then, there will be an interface. |

Cable Tracing Test
In cable tracing tests, there can be various types of tests.
Tracing Cable (RJ11/RJ45 Cable) Connected to Router or Switch
In this test, the user needs to insert the retractable cable into the port RJ11 or RJ45 (S) and then press the receiver’s testing key. Now, “Power” will get lighted. Now, the user has to hold the receiver near the cables. As the probe goes near the targeted one, there will be a loud sound “beep, beep, beep”.

Locating the Breakage or Short Point
The user has to connect the cable clips and metal line and then press the receiver’s testing key. Now, he has to hold the receiver near the cables, and there will be a sound “beep, beep, beep”. However, when the breakage point becomes the probe’s target, the sound stops, indicating the breakage’s location.

Crosstalk Test
Figure 5 shows 4, 5 and 3, 6 with crosstalk. Here, the line pair and crosstalk will flash as an indication of failure. The end-to-end connection in the crosstalk and line pair is correct. The connected lines come from different pairs of lines. Line pair crosstalk is likely to cause very large crosstalk; otherwise, there will be a slow network.

The cable testing procedures of the NF-8200 are simple and reliable. A wide range of testing facilities makes the NF-8200 an excellent network cable tester. Ensuring the quality of retractable network cables is essential for networks, and NF-8200 is a perfect device for these purposes.
